collaboration with NASA head of aviation
The head of NASA's Aviation Division participated in 1st RC Flight School flight training to learn the fundamental skills needed to manually fly NASA UAV’s in the event of an autonomous flight mode failure.
“Thank you for a wonderful two weeks of flight training! I really appreciated the courses, and more importantly appreciated you and your instruction. Please tell Anne thank you from me. You guys are a great team. Thank you again for such a great experience Dave.”

"I guess the first thing I noticed since taking your class was how much easier it was for me to fly in the simulator. Once flight testing begun for our project here at MIT, I felt a lot more confident in my ability to succeed.
I remember taking the sticks for what would be our very first flight test. The thing took off from the launcher like a rocket. I tried leveling out to a more desirable angle of attack and then I started losing throttle intermittently. In a moment of clarity, I remembered to “let go” of the sticks to figure out what the plane was doing.

I recovered from a downward spiral, leveled it out and landed it in one piece. The entire flight was 30 seconds. But in that time, I went through everything I had learned. In that moment, your training and all expenses had paid for themselves. Once we got the throttle issue figured out, the next flight was a piece of cake. We’ve done a lot of successful flights since.
I just wanted to say that besides being an absolute pleasure, taking your class has given me a wealth of knowledge and confidence in my ability to help these programs succeed and to accomplish my job. I hear your voice and your calm demeanor every time I grab the box and it has honestly saved me from disaster more than a handful of times.
It’s a real pleasure to have my project mates say “great flying!” or “perfect landing!” and I know it’s all due to you. So thank you for your patience, and dedication to me and my needs. That week was an experience I’ll not stop talking about for a long time."

Record setting week!
1st RC Flight School recently traveled to sunny California to coach 4 precision aerobatic pilots preparing for the upcoming Pattern contest season. The talented group of pilots flew an incredible 160 training flights over the span of just 5 days! Ranging in age from 62 to 75, they achieved near flying perfection and are an inspiration to us all. I pity their competition. Dave Scott, Instructor
"Hi Dave, I really appreciate your help and coaching! Bill and I both passed our biggest competitor by a significant amount. I am STOKED!! Thank You again."
